October 1st 2007 - South Thames Gateway go live with MIS Headway
Building Control.
Medway, Swale and Gravesham Councils are setting up a new
partnership known as STG (South Thames Gateway) to jointly
provide building control services - the first of its kind
within Kent.
The South Thames Gateway building control partnership is
officially launched on Monday, 1 October 2007.
The Partnership will ensure that existing and new structures
conform to the building regulations to protect the safety,
health and welfare of everyone involved. The service will
be marketed to commercial developers, house builders and the
development industry as a whole.
An improved and more cost effective building control service
will result from this that will combine the cost effectiveness
and flexibility of the private sector with the local knowledge,
professionalism and service quality of the public sector.
Cllr Jane Chitty, Medway Council's Portfolio Holder for Strategic
Development and Economic Growth, said: "The event will
mark a new dawn in the delivery of building control services
across Gravesham, Medway and Swale maintaining the quality
of service through professionalism, reliability and local
knowledge and having the resources to meet increased customer
expectation and the increased demands of an expanding market."

Plymouth City Council have gone live with
Headway Land Charges
The Council will be taking advantage of the NLIS Level 3 capability
of the software, GGP integration and a link into the GGP NLPG.

Halton Borough Council have gone live with
Headway Land Charges
The Council will be taking advantage of the NLIS Level 3 capability
of the software.

Tandridge District Council have gone live with Headway Land
Charges.
As an existing user of MIS software, Tandridge DC have chosen
to re new with MIS and take full advantage of the softwares
capability.

East Devon District Council have gone live with
Headway Land Charges
The Council will be taking advantage of the NLIS Level 3 capability
of the software as well as the advantages of ESRI GIS integration
and the SQL backend to the system. MIS are happy to have retained
EDDC as a customer after a good working relationship for a
number of years, and have successfully completed this upgrade
in a matter of weeks, in time for the new CON 29 changes.

Walsall Development Control Department are now the
third department at the council to be successfully using the
Headway product.
The product provides full remote access to all digitised records
and information, and the interactive section of the system
will provide a fully interactive internet service for their
customers 24/7.

Walsall have now begun to use MIS Land Charges. MIS
are happy to have successfully upgraded the existing sotware
in the short period of 4 weeks.

Eastleigh Borough Council have now begun to use MIS
Land Charges.
After undergoing a strict procurement process MIS were chosen
as the supplier for Eastleigh Land Charges.

Walsall Building Control Department are now successfully using
the Headway product in a full mobile environment.
Mark Skidmore Building Control Manager Walsall MBC comments,
“Walsall Building Control service has now successfully upgraded
to MIS Headway BC. The product provides full remote access
to all our digitised records and information, and the further
implementation of MIS Headway Interactive will provide a fully
interactive internet service for our customers.”

MIS LGS now provide an online forum/user group facility for
its customers.
The facility allows registered customers to post topics and
discuss any related items they choose with other users via
the MIS web site.
Its completely hosted and maintained by MIS LGS so all email
addresses and other information is private and protected.

MIS LGS have launced a customer service survey, to make sure
that we are meeting our customers expectations for support
and software provision.
With the positive feedback that we have had across the board
for our Headway products, we are keen to keep customer service
at a constant high standard.

MIS and Walsall who have previously agreed to be development
partners on the 1APP project are hoping to begin using the
new 1App system within the next few months.
MIS hope to build upon the current Planning Portal Interface
to allow The Council to begin using the system ASAP.

MIS are pleased and proud to announce that we have
won a new contract to supply Eastleigh Borough Council with
the Headway Land Charges system. Eastleigh will also be using
the HLC links into their GGP GIS and at a later stage will
begin using the NLIS level 3 Interface.
MIS also hope to send Gosport, North Cornwall DC live onto
modules of the headway

Staffordshire Moorlands
DC and Staffordshire County are now live using a Con29 XML
interface developed between MIS and Staffordshire County.
The Interface uses the GovTalk Con29 Schema to transfer Con29
requests and replies between the two Councils. Staffordshire
Moorlands have been successfully running MIS Headway Land
Charges for some months now and incorporating MIS LGS products
into the Council’s systems has assisted them to improve performance
and take forward its drive for greater efficiency of output.
Sue Barlow (Land Charges Manager) say’s ”MIS Local Government
Systems Ltd. were very professional and delivered the product
in line with our strict timetable and on budget."
Head of Customer Service Peter Dunkley comments, "The
experience of working with MIS LGS has been very positive,
and the early results from the use of "HLC" are
very encouraging."

Swale BC have decided to move to the Headway Planning
and Building Control Systems.
Managing Director Marc Booth Comments,
"Swale BC have been a long term customer of MIS and we
are very pleased that they have chosen to renew with us. As
with all our customers, we will continue to provide high quality
services which we hope will make us the first choice for any
of our existing customers when contracts are coming up for
renewal."

MIS can now offer customers full mobile, 'real time'
access to the Headway suite of products. MIS have tested the
Headway suite of products using 3G cards and VPN connections
to customer sites. David Pye, Technical Director, comments,
"We are really pleased with the initial results and
with improvements in Wireless Internet technology that are
likely to occur over the next couple of years means that our
customers can only benefit from taking advantage of these
facilities now.
MIS firmly believe that for an application to be truly mobile,
it should be accessible in its entirety to users."

Walsall MBC have now gone live with the new Headway
Building Control Product. Walsall, who previously used
the MIS Plus6 Building Control System, will be taking advantage
of the the mobile working options and integration with MapInfo
GIS.

Carmarthenshire CC are set to move to the new Headway
Building Control Product. Carmarthenshire CC, who currently
use the MIS Plus6 Building Control System, will be able to
take advantage of the increase performance of the new SQL
Server based product, which has mobile working options and
integration with GIS. In addition the user friendly interface
which takes a 'nothing hidden' approach, helps to make life
easier for the system users.

Walsall MBC Who have recently chosen to upgrade to
the new MIS Headway suite of products,
are set to go live on the building control system in October
2006. MIS have on average been able to implement modules of
the new Headway suite in an 8 week turnaround.

Tandridge DC who have purchased the Headway
Mobile Working Solution for Building Control are now ready
to implement the software into their working practices. MIS
and Tandridge DC will be working closely together to implement
the solution before the end of the year.

The results
from the December 2005 Pendleton Planning Website Survey are
now available, and MIS have been able to celebrate as all
our customers who purchased Eaccess,
the MIS solution to meet all the pendleton criteria, achieved
full 21 points. MIS were also very pleased to see that Carmarthenshire
who use Eaccess, were the only Council in Wales to get the
full 21 points.

to achieve massive savings to Building Control departments
throughout our customer base.

New Directors have been appointed at MIS LGS.
Marc Booth and David Pye have both served the company for
over 5 years and helped to progress and build the company.
Marc Booth has now been appointed to the position of Managing
Director.
Marc has over 12 years experience in local government and
this experience will allow further development of the company
Marc comments, "The promotion will help me to concentrate
on our customers needs and help us continue to deliver our
solutions both in the present and future, allowing MIS to
reach new levels"
David Pye has now been appointed to the position of Development
Director.
David has over 10 years experience in the I.T. field, and
his broad subject knowledge has been a great benefit to the
company.
David Comments, "I'm really pleased about the promotion.
Both myself and Marc have extensive plans for MIS that will
enable us to continue to provide cutting edge solutions for
all our customers."
